She received her Functional Medicine and Nutrition Certification from the American Academy of Functional Health (CFNMP) in February 2024. She believes in a holistic approach to health and feels that getting to the root cause of disease creates the best outcomes.
Wendy's nursing career originally started in pediatrics where she spent 20 combined years working at Phoenix Children's Hospital (15 years) and Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego (5 years). She worked in all areas of the hospital including the PICU, NICU, ER, Neurology, MRI, and Case Management. Her specialty focus for the last 10 years has been on brain and cognitive health and wellness which included running a brain injury clinic with her husband in Temecula, Ca. While taking care of people who had sustained brain injuries, she developed a interest and a passion for a naturalistic approach to brain health. She became a ReCODE certified practitioner in 2021. ReCODE is a program that stops and even reverses cognitive decline in patient's with Alzheimer's and Dementia. ReCODE is also a great option for people who are having subjective cognitive impairment or who at at risk for developing Alzheimer's or Dementia. Learning the drastic improvement that nutrition and supplements can have on cognition and brain health, sent her down a path of functional medicine for all illnesses. This is what led her to return to school to become a Nurse Practitioner and to obtain her functional medicine credential with the final goal of being able to combine all the best parts of conventional/mainstream medicine with functional/naturopathic medicine. She is very eager to help those who are interested in getting to the root cause of illness with a focus on overall health and wellness. She wants to help people become the best and most healthy versions of themselves. Wendy is also a certified Medical Examiner for the Department of Transportation and is fully qualified to perform certification exams for the Department of Transportation. Wendy grew up in Arizona. She moved to California in 2011, but the sun, her family, and her career brought her back to AZ in 2023. She loves the heat and all water sports and activities. She is very happily married and has 3 amazing adult children. Her favorite things to do are spending time with her family including traveling and exploring new places and countries. |
